Building a Complex Development Environment for Little or No Money: a hands-on journey to simulate a multi-server system on you desktop using virtulization - and then coding with it.

'But it works on my development machine!' How many times have you taken your shiney new program and uploaded it to a production server only for it to fail? Creating a development environment that properly matches the production environment helps avoid last-minute configuration errors that are difficult to troubleshhot. Virtual environments also allow development of multi-server solutions or server-only software such as SharePoint. This hands-on presentation will explore virtualization options, hardware selection, installing and configuring software and then using the environment to create some sample software.
